Mainframe Operations Technician

Summary:

Experienced Mainframe Operations Technician responsible for managing and monitoring Z/OS batch processes and file transfers. Ensures production reliability through scheduling, incident handling, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule, execute and monitor batch jobs using Control-M and TWS.

React to incidents (abends, SLA breaches, dependency issues) and perform recovery actions.

Manage system resources (disk space, JES queues, datasets, GDG, catalogues).

Handle and troubleshoot file transfers via CFT, Connect:Express, EGEN.

Provide Level 2 technical support to application teams.

Participate in production changes and off-hours interventions (HNO).

Maintain operational documentation and produce performance reports.

Technical Environment: Z/OS, Windows, Linux, Control-M, TWS, CFT, Connect:Express, EGEN, DB2.
