**Job Description**
The Machine Operator sets up and operates equipment that drills, cuts, and bends steel in a large structural fabrication shop. This role focuses on producing high-quality steel components that meet precise specifications by accurately measuring, monitoring, and adjusting machine operations while maintaining a safe and clean work area.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate machines that drill, cut, and bend steel to produce structural components in accordance with production requirements.
+ Measure dimensions of completed products and workpieces using a tape measure to verify conformance to specifications down to 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16 of an inch.
+ Install mechanical parts and components on equipment to support proper machine setup and operation.
+ Check machines regularly to ensure proper operation, part placement, and lubrication, and make adjustments as needed.
