Machine Learning Engineer

The Role:We are supporting a global tech organisation during a critical search platform migration and are looking for a freelance Machine Learning / Search Engineer to join the team for a 6-month engagement .

This role is focused on production search systems , not research or experimentation.

You will help migrate an existing Solr-based search stack to OpenSearch , ensuring search quality, relevance, and system parity throughout the transition.

What You'll Be Working On

Migrating search components from Solr to OpenSearch

Supporting keyword and semantic search use cases

Maintaining and improving search relevance and ranking

Ensuring parity between legacy and new systems

Working closely with backend and data teams

Scaling search infrastructure and optimising cloud costs
