The Role:We are supporting a global tech organisation during a critical search platform migration and are looking for a freelance Machine Learning / Search Engineer to join the team for a 6-month engagement .
This role is focused on production search systems , not research or experimentation.
You will help migrate an existing Solr-based search stack to OpenSearch , ensuring search quality, relevance, and system parity throughout the transition.
What You’ll Be Working On- Migrating search components from Solr to OpenSearch
- Supporting keyword and semantic search use cases
- Maintaining and improving search relevance and ranking
- Ensuring parity between legacy and new systems
- Working closely with backend and data teams
