Consultant Pathologist (Ref: LR )
Applications are invited for a Consultant Pathologist to join the current 22‑consultant team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, a university‑affiliated teaching hospital. An interest in dermatopathology and urology is particularly welcome, but the department will consider applicants with other areas of interest.
Job Summary
The role involves reporting by subspecialist teams and distribution of workload according to RCPath points guidance. The post offers opportunities for research, teaching and participation in private practice. The Pathology Department handles approximately 37,000 surgical and 4,700 diagnostic cytology specimens and is fully accredited to UKAS ISO 15189:2022. The Molecular Genetics laboratory is on‑site and the laboratory’s integrated biorepository supports research opportunities. The laboratory has recently undergone major refurbishment under a managed service contract to create modern facilities.
