Job Description
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Plan and ensure the supply chain of green corn and corn seed from the production areas to the processing sites, as well as parent seed freight to the planting areas.
- Negotiate best corn transport rates with freight owners according to economic region conditions.
- Monitor the flow of shipments, ensuring proper and timely delivery of raw materials.
- Optimize operating costs associated with inbound freight.
- Communicate regularly with freight owners, operators, and the entire Seed Production staff.
- Coordinate freight frequency, quantity, locations, and delivery times with freight companies based on optimal cost.
- Incorporate digital, innovative, and sustainable technologies (MCS, IA, GPS, MAT, Navigate, etc.) to maximize operational efficiency.
- Create logistics KPIs and manage MyControlSite (MES) to measure process performance and execute continuous improvement actions.
