Job Description
Northern Health is hiring locum emergency physicians for the Bulkley Valley District Hospital in Smithers, British Columbia. This role provides day and evening shifts with competitive pay based on experience.
Physicians will serve in a busy emergency department, averaging 25 patients during weekday days and 12 patients at night. Shifts include opportunities for weekend work, along with travel and accommodation costs fully covered by the employer. A travel stipend ranging from $250 to $1,500 is also included.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency care in a busy department
• Manage daytime caseload averaging 25 patients
• Handle night shifts with approximately 12 patients
• Participate in weekend shifts for additional income
• Ensure excellent patient outcomes and support
Requirements:
• CCFP certification or equivalent
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred
• Ability to handle high patient volumes
