Locomotive Engineer

Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Train Operations, the COASTER Locomotive Engineer is responsible for the providing safe, efficient and customer-friendly passenger transportation by ensuring the safe operation of locomotives, complying with train orders, wayside signals, Positive Train Control (PTC) procedures, railroad operating rules, special instructions, federal, state, and local regulations. This is a bargained position represented by the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation workers (SMART) Union.

Distinguishing Characteristics
