Literacy Advisor

Under the direction of the Second Level Services Manager, the Literacy Advisor will work in classrooms with teachers and students, supporting literacy initiatives to impact student achievement in literacy. They will provide leadership for professional development in literacy, especially the science of teaching reading. Working collaboratively with a team of education professionals, the Literacy Advisor will demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning.

Details

The Literacy Advisor will perform tasks as assigned by the Shibogama Education Department and cooperate with school principals. These tasks include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead school-wide literacy assessment as required
• Provide coaching to teachers within the framework established by Shibogama
• Travel to Shibogama communities and work in classrooms with teachers and students to support literacy development
