Downer’s Energy & Utilities team is seeking a Line Mechanic (Faults) to join our Valley region crew, supporting network fault response and restoration.

Working alongside a Team Lead, you’ll be out in the field responding to faults, restoring power, and helping keep the network running. This is a great role for someone who likes variety, problem‑solving, and being part of a strong crew.

Based in Matamata, your day‑to‑day will include:

• Responding to overhead and underground network faults across the region
• Locating issues and helping restore power safely
• Carrying out switching under direction
• Completing repairs on lines, poles, and equipment
• Supporting your Team Lead and crew on‑site
• Keeping job records and basic reporting up to date
• Taking part in on‑call and storm response when required
