Summary: Light Rail Train (LRT) Operators run NJT’s River Line, providing safe, reliable, timely, and courteous service to customers.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  •  Are twenty-one (21) years of age or older; able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Possess a New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsements.
  • Or possess three (3) years non–provisional driving experience with a valid New Jersey Driver’s License, and are able to obtain a validated New Jersey Commercial Driver’s License permit that has been stamped indicating the passing of written tests for passenger and general knowledge endorsements.
