Summary: This is a 6-month contract role with a local authority, aimed at providing high-quality legal advice and representation on a wide range of licensing matters. The Licensing Lawyer will ensure the Council's regulatory and licensing functions are delivered in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practice. The role involves managing a varied caseload, supporting Licensing Committees and Sub-Committees, representing the Council in legal proceedings, and contributing to the effective governance of licensing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice and guidance on all aspects of licensing law to officers, senior management, and elected Members.
• Advise on matters relating to the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Local Government legislation, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
