Apprentice mechanical fitters will work in the SACO press shop and assist with the fitting, development, and refurbishment of tooling and setting of transfer presses.
Hours: Monday to Friday, shifts to be confirmed.
36 hours 30 minutes a week
Duration: 3 years 6 months

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.
What you’ll do at work
- Prepare the presses before production through the fitting of tooling
- Adjust and make minor repairs to the machinery or tooling before and during operation
- Perform test runs and collaborate with Quality Control to ensure components meet customer standards
- Work with toolmakers to develop new tooling to optimise machine performance
