Job Summary
The Legal Analyst mines litigation data, revealing insights never before available about judges, lawyers, parties, and the subjects of the cases themselves, culled from millions of pages of litigation information. They call these insights Legal Analytics®, because analytics involves the discovery and communication of meaningful patterns in data.
Data Enrichment: Analyze, edit, code, and annotate court documents for manual data enrichment for the Lex Machina legal analytics product.Case Analysis: Identify, analyze, code, and annotate case properties, findings, outcomes (including damages), expert witnesses, and build detailed case timelines.Collaboration and Editorial: Assist team members with analysis issues, make decisions on complex legal analysis issues, and ensure product quality by reporting errors.Knowledge/Skills: Requires intermediate knowledge of (or a strong commitment to gain knowledge of) US laws and the courts system.
