I'm looking for a UK-qualified accountant or tax lawyer to value a UK Ltd company following my relocation to Canada.
Background
- I own both a UK Ltd and a Canadian Ltd
- I've personally moved from the UK to Canada
- I want to close the UK company and transfer customers and operations to the Canadian entity
My UK accountant has advised this would be treated as a sale of the UK company, triggering capital gains tax based on valuation.
I'm seeking a specialist to prepare a fair, defensible valuation that supports a low sale price where justified, fully compliant with HMRC rules. This includes applying an HMRC-acceptable methodology and delivering a valuation report that would stand up to HMRC scrutiny.
There may also be an alternative corporate reorganisation route (e.g. holdco or share-for-share exchange). I'm open to exploring this, but the primary focus of this engagement is the valuation.,
