About the role
The Role – Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
As an LSA, you’ll be working closely with pupils aged 4–19, supporting them both in the classroom and around the school. Your role will involve:
Providing 1:1 LSA support and small-group help to keep pupils engaged and progressing.Working with children who may have ASD, communication needs, sensory needs, PMLD or physical difficulties.Helping to create a calm, positive environment where pupils can learn at their own pace.Supporting with personal care, feeding, and moving & handling when needed (training can be arranged).Building consistent, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.Working as part of a team that includes teachers, therapists and other LSAs.Using visual aids, communication tools or Makaton where appropriate.No two days are the same, but every day is rewarding.
