Summary The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) at this level is fully functional and can carry out assigned tasks independently. This DRT functions as a lead for a group of DRT's at the full performance level and below, providing input on performance, resolving daily workplace issues, and ensuring efficient workflow in general radiology. Responsibilities Major duties include, but are not limited to: Performs technical work in support of diagnostic radiology under the direction of a physician. This includes operating radiology equipment, both mobile and fixed, and assisting the radiologist in fluoroscopic procedures as part of the diagnostic plan for patients. Works closely with outside teaching facilities, that the VA has affiliation agreements with, in the training of DRT students. This includes coordinating daily assignments, answering questions, critiquing images, and evaluating student performance.
