Location: Port Elizabeth Onsite (Shift)

Purpose of Role: To ensure ladles are prepared for casting operations, as well as performing casting operations in the foundry. Key Responsibilities Ladle Preparation: Clean ladles of metal and slag from previous uses, patch ladle linings, replace stopper nozzles and prepare stoppers. Maintain stock of required materials. Preheating and Casting Preparation: Preheat the ladles and stoppers according to the required schedule. Set the ladle stopper, perform pour‑overs as needed for the alloy, and prepare any ladle additions. Ensure the cast bay is prepared for casting. Casting: Transfer and position the ladle for each mould being poured and/or operate the ladle. Housekeeping/Materials Management: Maintain the ladle bay housekeeping and ensure 6 S is applied to the area on every shift.
