Laboratory Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and prepare patient samples (blood, urine, stool, sputum, etc.) for testing.

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests as per standard procedures.

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers.

• Ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of test results.

• Record, analyze, and interpret test data, then report findings to doctors/medical staff.

• Follow quality control and safety standards in the laboratory.

• Properly store, handle, and dispose of specimens and chemical reagents.

• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of work areas and instruments.

• Keep up-to-date records of all laboratory activities and patient reports.

• Assist in inventory management—checking stock of reagents, kits, and other consumables.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and reports.
