Supervises the day-to-day operations of general, clinical laboratory area, moderately complex labs in Health Plazas. Works to standardize equipment, procedures and supplies across MercyOne NorthEast Iowa. Oversees the work of staff in assigned area. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.
Performs functions of Medical Laboratory Technician
+ Performs clinical testing of laboratory specimens and reviews data for clinical correlation.
+ Performs quality control testing on all analyzers and analyzes in section of responsibility and interprets results.
+ Troubleshoots instrumentation and assays.
+ Serves as a resource on clinical laboratory testing.
