Lab Patient Technician - Temporary Part Time Regular - Brockville, ON

Title: Lab Patient Technician

Location: Float position working between Brockville and Morrisburg.

Position Summary

Responsible for specimen collection process from greeting patients through to preparation of specimens for transportation, ensuring accurate testing and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients, request required information, explain specimen collection process, and ensure patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Perform special test collections (medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, clinical trials) and complete related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships, including responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
• Complete data entry of patient demographics and requisition information related to processing test results.
