- Backup Management Roles & Responsibilities : 1. AS400 (IBM i) Administration :
- Administer, monitor, and maintain IBM AS400 / IBM i systems
- User profile creation, modification, and access control management
- Job monitoring, subsystem management, and performance tuning
- Apply PTFs, cumulative updates, and OS upgrades
- Manage system backups, restores, and save/restore procedures
- Troubleshoot system, application, and batch job failures
- Coordinate with application teams for deployments and issues
- Ensure system security, auditing, and compliance
- Provide on-call and production support 2. HMC (Hardware Management Console) :
- Administer IBM Power systems using HMC
- LPAR creation, deletion, and configuration
- Resource allocation (CPU, memory, virtual adapters)
