Junior draughtsman – sheet metal (trainee)

Job Purpose To learn and develop the skills required to produce technical drawings and 3 D models for sheet metal components using Solid Works. This is an entry-level growth role for a mathematically inclined individual with strong spatial visualization skills, aimed at transitioning academic knowledge into real-world manufacturing design. Key Responsibilities Learn Solid Works: Receive training to develop 3 D models and 2 D drawings of sheet metal parts. Assist Senior Staff: Support senior draughtsman with drawing revisions, detailing, and updates. Interpret Drawings: Learn to translate engineering sketches and Matric EGD principles into digital CAD formats. Learn Fabrication Basics: Develop an understanding of sheet metal design principles, including bend allowances and material types. BOM Management: Assist in creating and maintaining basic Bills of Materials (BOMs).
