Junior DBA – Contract
Location: Johannesburg
Work Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days in office)
About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Database Administrator with a strong technical foundation and a willingness to learn. This role offers hands-on exposure to modern databases, Java-based applications, and cloud technologies in a diverse working environment.
What You Bring
2–3+ years of experience in DBA or IT Support
Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Familiarity with Windows and Linux
Understanding of Java runtime, Spring Boot, and APIs
Awareness of application logging and API Gateway concepts
Comfortable working in a multi-cultural (Pan-Africa) environment
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering
Azure Database Administrator or Oracle certification (preferred)
