Responsibilities

  • Review and validate database schema and SQL changes before production deployment (MySQL focus)
  • Evaluate table design based on data volume, growth rate, and query patterns
  • Assess index strategy and identify potential performance risks
  • Monitor slow queries and analyze execution plans to provide optimization recommendations
  • Conduct regular database health checks and track data growth trends
  • Identify potential scalability issues (large tables, locking risks, inefficient queries) and propose preventive improvements
  • Support database standardization efforts, including schema conventions and best practices
  • Gradually expand knowledge into distributed databases (TiDB) and analytical databases (StarRocks)
