IT System Engineer

The IT System Engineer is responsible for supporting a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) distributed services and systems, and for ensuring that critical business systems continue to run efficiently by providing routine and emergency maintenance and database administration.

• Maintain the distributed services and systems support process and ensure that all requests are addressed according to agreed procedures.
• Apply vendor released patches to operating systems and databases.
• Ensure that procedures are defined and executed for Event Management.
• Develop training material and ensure that the Event Management staff are adequately trained.
• Maintain databases and manage backup, access, data recovery and IT security functions.
• Monitor and update IT security elements.
• Consult with the IT Services teams and Supply Chain departments regarding user concerns.
