The Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL), a Directorate of the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, is seeking a Research Intern to participate in the analysis of data on materials ranging from Li-ion batteries to polymer systems with techniques that can include transmission x-ray microscopy (TXM), small angle scattering and x-ray diffraction. These techniques allow probing of the structural and chemical changes taking place in Li-ion batteries during operation. The intern will have access to software tools that will enable segmentation of the images and analysis of x-ray absorption data. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to work with scientists and engineers developing a new, state-of-the-art transmission x-ray microscope. This position is expected to be proficient and work under limited supervision. The position can start in mid-summer with the exact start date and duration dependent on the av...
