Inpatient Medical Coder

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to inpatient records in compliance with official coding guidelines and AHIMAs Standards of Ethical Coding. Abstracts key clinical information and ensures coding accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

• With active CPC, CCS, CIC
  
• 2-3 years of experience with inpatient medical coding.
• Handled simple to complex cases, high dollar account.
• Strong knowledge with CPT, ICD10, HCPCS. EMR/EHR (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, 3M encoder)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews medical records to assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes.
• Ensures proper abstracting of required data, including discharge disposition.
• Maintains at least 95.5% coding accuracy for diagnoses and procedures.
• Prepares compliant retrospective physician queries as needed.
