Responsibilities
- Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relations
- Coordinate the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet organization goals
- Direct and control daily operations
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
- Advise managers and employees on interpretation of HR policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
- Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies
- Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
- Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
