Job Description

We are seeking an individual who will serve as the SOHO Science Operations Coordinator, supporting the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) Experimenter’s Operation Facility (EOF) on-site at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.

Duties include:

  • Supporting instrument science planning and commanding
  • Monitoring instrument health and safety
  • Overseeing data production processing
  • Providing general backup support to the instrument team.

    • The position is 30 hours per week, fully on-site, and is ideally suited for a college undergraduate who is interested in, and able to take on the responsibilities required to obtain, hands-on experience supporting an operating NASA space mission.

    We are seeking a candidate who is a fast learner, a problem-solver, and a reliable team-player who can also be trusted to work independently. Previous experience working in a spacecraft operations environment is a strong plus.
