Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end IBM Optim data archival activities, including Access Definition creation, Archive Requests, Extract Requests, Restore Requests, and DB alias configuration.
  • Generate reports for archive and delete requests to meet audit requirements.
  • Manage archival of unstructured and structured data across multiple relational databases (Oracle, DB2 LUW, DB2 Mainframe, Postgres, MS SQL Server, Teradata).
  • Monitor, tune, and optimize data archival performance.
  • Apply security standards and database-level encryption for data archival processes.
  • Create storage profiles and legal holds based on data retention policies.
  • Upgrade IBM Optim versions and apply necessary fixes (iFix) when needed.
  • Drive automation of archival processes using Python, Shell scripting, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
  • Support cloud-based data archival implementations.
