HEARING CARE COUNSELLOR

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Hearing Care Counsellor based in Timmins. Reporting to the Manager, Deafblind Services, the Hearing Care Counsellor will be responsible for providing individual counselling, support, and case management for eligible Hearing Care Counselling (HCC) clients (age 55 and up and hard of hearing or deaf).

This will be a 1-year contract, full-time position, working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in the Social Services field along with 3–5 years’ counselling experience with the elderly. French would be an asset. You also have proven knowledge of and experience in the hearing loss field including evaluating hearing loss utilizing audioscope and audiometer testing devices as well as providing general instruction to clients in the use, care, and maintenance of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
