**What you will do:** The Health Information Technician ensures the medical records is accessible and maintained for patient care and hospital operations. The HIM Technician is responsible for medical record retrieval, review, assembly, verification and coordination. The HIM Technician supports the HIM department through a variety of complex document imaging functions including prepping and scanning of records and quality control checks. Comprehensive HIM department functions include assisting with responding to requests for information from internal and external customers, maintaining confidentiality of protected health information and record storage.
Retrieves the medical record throughout the hospital as directed, verifying receipt of record against daily discharge reports.
