Job Overview
Head Chef at Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol. Manage and lead a culinary team to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality culinary service within budget.
Responsibilities
- Prepare modified diets that look appealing, are well-balanced, and align with IDDSI guidance.
- Place food orders with approved suppliers, complying with procedures to maintain appropriate stock levels and purchase within budget limits.
- Supervise and direct kitchen staff—including the Host team—providing instruction and demonstration of simple food preparation to unqualified staff.
- Practice safe systems of work across tasks, moving and handling loads in a manner that safeguards residents, visitors, and staff.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sectors.
- Relevant catering qualification: City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ.
