Availability: 3 openings
The job entails about 20 hours a week on average. This is a cumulative average across a month. Typically, GRAs are on duty (on-call) in the dorm from 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM Monday through Thursday during the week, and weekend shifts are Friday starting at 5:00 PM until Monday morning at 7:00 AM. The duty schedule is divided up among the four GRAs, each taking a weekday duty shift and 1-2 weekends a month.
Duty consists of helping Threshold students with a myriad of issues from homesickness, to losing their keys and ID, to having a personal conflict with a dormmate. It also involves organizing social and recreational activities every shift you are on-call. GRAs will also chaperone or lead 1-2 off-campus activities per semester when they are not on-call. The GRAs write a duty log every shift documenting dorm updates about any student issues, and student comings and goings from campus when the GRA is on-call.
