This hospital has 24 beds and provides 24 hour acute and emergency care, including maternity and theatre services. Community and Allied Health Services are available including: cardiology clinic, alcohol and drugs, child development, diabetes education, dental, mental health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology, Antenatal clinics are provided. With a population of around 3,500 it is the base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of Distance Education. The town is also home to a Cosmos Centre, which houses an observatory perfect for viewing the Milky Way Galaxy. Accommodation will be provided in a self contained non sharing fully furnished unit and a car to use after hours. Duties will include working as per the local roster and sharing the after hours on call. Flights from Brisbane are through Rex Airlines only. Details
