We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on‑site General Building Operative in HMP Long Lartin.

Work Hours and Salary

Standard hours are 39 per week across 7 days with a weekend shift pattern. 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional 15 % of basic salary. Base salary: £28,792.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team to provide general maintenance tasks and support tradespeople on site.
• Provide professional assistance and contractor escorting duties when required.
• Complete DIY tasks such as decorating, hanging notice boards, building furniture, and repairing items around the prison.
• Check appliances, fittings and general environment are in good working order and report all defects to the Team Leader.
• Perform general housekeeping, including litter picking and landscaping around the grounds if required.
