Responsibilities

  • Student Coaching: Provide direct reinforcement of UEB code to students.
  • Tactile Literacy: Assist students in developing tactual discrimination—the ability to feel and identify fine details in tactile graphics and braille cells.
  • Technology Instruction: Guide students in the use of Refreshable Braille Displays, Braille Note-takers (e.g., BrailleNote Touch or Braille Sense), and Perkins Braillers.
  • Progress Monitoring: Observe student progress in braille reading speed and accuracy, providing regular feedback to the TVI.
