An established dry bulk owner operator is seeking a commercially driven Freight Trader to be based in Mumbai, India.

This is a hands-on operator role focused on market cargo, emphasizing market execution, contract negotiation, and maximizing voyage profitability in a fast-paced freight environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of cargo contracts and chartered vessels, ensuring optimal vessel cover and cargo exposure balance
• Execute time charter, voyage charter, and COA fixtures in line with commercial strategy
• Drive freight and hire optimisation to enhance voyage margins
• Lead charterparty negotiations and finalise commercially sound contract terms
• Prepare voyage estimates, monitor performance, and manage freight, hire, and claims exposure
• Track freight market movements across Handy and Supramax segments to guide positioning decisions
