Job Description
Join OSM Thome as Fitter (FTR) on a container vessel trading worldwide. You will work closely with the engine department and deck crew to keep all steel structures, machinery foundations and pipes in good condition, ensuring safe and smooth vessel operations.
- **Key responsibilities**:
- Carry out welding, cutting, grinding and basic machining jobs onboard
- Maintain and repair steel structures, handrails, ladders, tanks and pipe systems
- Assist engineers in maintenance and repair of engine room and deck equipment
- Perform routine inspections and report any structural or mechanical defects
- Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean and in good order
- **Requirements**:
- Sea-going experience as Fitter on cargo/container vessels
- Good welding and cutting skills (electric, gas and basic fabrication)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for sea service
- Ability to read simple drawings and work independently
