Job Description
Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Work with an experienced crew, keeping vessel structure, piping and machinery in good condition and safe for operation.
- **Key responsibilities**:
- Carry out steel repairs, welding, cutting and fabrication as required onboard
- Maintain and repair hull, decks, handrails, ladders, doors and hatches
- Assist engine and deck departments with maintenance and repair jobs
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Keep tools, workshop and work areas clean and in good order
- **Requirements**:
- Previous seagoing experience as Fitter on bulk carriers or similar vessels
- Strong welding and gas-cutting skills (stick and/or MIG, gouging an advantage)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness as per international standards
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work safely, follow instructions and cooperate well with the crew
