Fire Prevention Inspector

* Conducts a review of property files to gather all available information prior to attending the site for inspection* Conducts fire and life safety inspections to determine that the premises being inspected complies with the applicable legislation, by-laws, codes and standards* Documents observations and findings during an inspection, advises property owner of required actions to achieve compliance, and prepares and issues inspection orders to support compliance enforcement* Monitors the status of compliance orders and performs follow-up/recall inspections to ensure compliance is achieved* Prepares relevant documentation for the prosecution of violations, including accurate and comprehensive summaries of evidence, and provides testimony at legal proceedings as required* Provides technical expertise for the development of public service announcements, media advisories, news releases, and information for interviews in cooperation with other municipal divisions* Conducts fire safety inspe...
