Role Summary:
Field Operations Engineer with strong fiber O&M capability to support and maintain live fiber network infrastructure. The role requires on-site execution for fiber fault management and breakdown response, including splicing works, core configuration, and fiber testing, as well as coordination with local authorities and external parties for route protection and preventive activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Fiber Specialist – Fault Management & Breakdown Response
Perform fault management and breakdown response for fiber network incidents (planned and unplanned).
Able to manage, monitor and execute fiber splicing, jointing and restoration works for damaged cables.
Handle core configuration, core allocation verification, and fiber pair management.
Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, power meter, light source, and other related tools.
Ensure quality splicing/testing results and proper documentation of findings.
