Job Description

The School of University Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Chemistry lab faculty assistant. The successful candidate will support student learning by assisting faculty and by setting up and taking down chemistry labs. This is an ongoing, full-time position at the Castlegar campus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the setting up, delivery, and taking down of labs with Chemistry faculty

  • Assist faculty during labs

  • Prepare demonstration and lab materials for lab instruction and experiments

  • Demonstrate and enforce safe lab practices and policies

  • Organize and maintain lab supplies, equipment, chemicals and safety data sheets

  • Coordinate with college staff the purchasing and receiving of supplies and equipment
