Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator position involves the operation of heavy equipment and the inspection of material arriving at the facility.**Key Responsibilities:*** Adhere to and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, use proper personal protective equipment and other safety equipment.* Ensures compliance with WCB safety procedures.* Operate heavy equipment regularly including:* Landfill Compactor.* Dozer.* Excavator.* Rock Truck.* Assess incoming material for disposal to determine the contamination rates, determine when contamination levels are exceeded and communicate accordingly.* Interact with the customers (public and contract haulers) delivering material, other staff, service providers, etc. in a courteous and professional manner.* Shape landfill cells and add daily cover according to sequencing plans and as directed.* Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily.* Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily.* Steer, guide and or drive ...
