Job Description

Location: Widnes
Salary: £27,608 per annum
Employment type: Permanent and Fixed Term Contract (until 31 January 2027)
Working hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out a range of horticultural and cleansing operations to open spaces and individual gardens, including litter picking, fly‑tipping, removal and environmental improvements.
  • Be proactive in reporting repairs, hazards, defects, fly‑tipping and any health and safety matters.
  • Carry out a range of grass cutting operations – hand, pedestrian controlled, and ride‑on machines.
  • Prune and maintain hedgerows and shrub beds with hand tools and powered cutters, including soil preparation and mulching.

Qualifications

  • Full driving licence.
  • Qualifications: NPTC Unit PA1 – Safe Use of Pesticides; NPTC Unit PA6 – Use of Handheld Applicator; Lantra/NPTC – use of ride‑on rotary mowers.
