About the role

The Blasting Engineer provides engineering support in the management, storage, handling, and use of explosives on site, through control and auditing of regulatory compliance with explosives‑related requirements in accordance with company policies.

What you will be doing

  • Verify the blast design for each shot to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, that no danger arises when the blast is initiated.
  • Ensure that explosives are stored, handled, and used in a manner that does not pose any risk to the health and safety of people on or off site, and immediately escalates to project managers anything that could negatively affect this.
