ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Quality Control Branch (Code 221), Process Controls Division (Code 220), Office of the Chief Engineer (Code 240), Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will provide ship availability job planning support at assigned project location. You will be responsible to ensure necessary funding issues are resolved and addressed to permit work to be accomplished as scheduled without delay. You will conduct troubleshooting ship checks as necessary to investigate shipboard situations as they arise. You will develop and maintain an active database of changes received and documented, reflecting all pertinent information as taken from the change document. You will provide guidance and leadership to lower graded personnel as required on the project availability team.
