Position Summary
This temporary, fixed‑term role (until 31 August 2028) supports pupils in Early Years and Year One at Discovery Primary Academy, helping them build resilience, positive relationships, and emotional well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted emotional literacy interventions (1:1 and small group) under the guidance of the SENCo.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, self‑esteem, anxiety, friendships, and behaviour related to emotional needs.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Apply a range of therapeutic approaches including play‑based activities, mindfulness, stories, and structured resources.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, providing timely feedback to staff.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
- Engage in ongoing training related to emotional literacy, mental health, and the Assistant SENCo role.
