The Role

Dismantle, troubleshoot, investigate, repair, and re-assemble all types of electrical and mechanical apparatus.

• Dismantling and assembly of rotating equipment:
  • Assist in assembly of most types of rotating equipment. Complete service order card.
  • Determine bearing type, size, seals, shields etc. Document bearing arrangement.
  • Remove and install bearings. Identify parts for proper assembly. Properly store and clean parts.
  • Withdraw materials.
  • Perform grit blasting of equipment.
  • Re-assemble basic rotating equipment. Paint.
  • Perform electrical tests (e.g. meggar, surge comparison, hypo, core loss).
  • Perform final run tests and vibration checks.
• Low Voltage A.C. Three Phase Winding:
  • Perform core loss and loop tests.
  • Perform electrical tests and record (e.g. surge comparison, PI meggar).
